THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Smyrna Museum is associated with reports of ghostly apparitions connected to the town's early history. Visitors have described phantom footsteps, mysterious voices, shadow figures, and unexplained cold spots throughout the museum. Staff have also reported unusual activity after hours.
The house in which the museum resides was used as a barracks during the War of 1812 and a center for drafting Union soldiers in the Civil War. Witnesses have heard unexplained voices and sounds, seen things moving on their own, and reported a feeling of being watched.
