A man who died by suicide in the Blue Room and his wife are reportedly still encountered at the house, accompanied by cold spots and phantom running footsteps.
Springhill House is associated with a tragedy said to have occurred in the Blue Room in 1816, when a man died by suicide. Visitors reportedly experience an oppressive sorrow and unusually cold temperatures in the room. His wife, who is said to have tried to stop him, is reportedly seen elsewhere in the house or heard running toward the Blue Room.
