Historic Springwood Cemetery in downtown Greenville is associated with several long-running ghost stories. The best known concerns Fannie Heldmann, whose apparition or a mysterious white mist is said to appear near her resting place. Visitors have also reported unexplained children's voices, laughter, apparitions, strange lights and other unusual phenomena.
