Built on the former Sugamo Prison site, Sunshine 60 and its surroundings are associated with reported supernatural sightings.

Sunshine 60 was built on the site of the former Sugamo Prison, where seven Japanese war criminals, including former prime minister Hideki Tojo, were hanged in 1948. Soviet spy Richard Sorge was also executed at the prison in 1944. According to the source, supernatural sightings have been reported in and around the building since the prison was demolished and Sunshine 60 was constructed.
