THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The ruins of San Francisco's Sutro Baths are said to be haunted by ghostly former guests and unexplained presences lingering around the remains of the historic swimming complex.

Adolph Sutro opened the enormous Sutro Baths complex near San Francisco's Lands End in the late nineteenth century. The indoor swimming and entertainment complex eventually declined and the remaining structure burned in 1966, leaving extensive ruins overlooking the Pacific. Paranormal folklore claims that ghostly former visitors still linger among the ruins, with reports of apparitions and unexplained presences around the pools and tunnels.
