THE STORY

Reported Haunting

Local folklore links the pond to the drowning of a boy nicknamed Tacchan and two would-be rescuers. Later stories describe a child's cries and pale hands emerging from the water.

Takube Pond is a historic pond within Sayama Park and is commonly called Tacchan Pond. Local tradition says that in 1925 a young boy known as Tacchan drowned and two young men attempting to save him also died. Later folklore developed around a child spirit, crying near the water and pale hands supposedly reaching from the pond. The supernatural elements are presented as Local Legend.
