THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Teatro Amazonas in Manaus, Brazil, is considered one of the country's most haunted historic buildings, steeped in the eerie residual energy of the 19th-century rubber boom. Longtime employees and night guards frequently report seeing a highly elegant, phantom man dressed entirely in black wandering the empty corridors and private boxes even when no events are scheduled. The third floor is notorious for severe paranormal activity, where visitors experience sudden cold spots, disembodied footsteps, the unexplained sound of a piano playing by itself, and the lingering apparition of a European stage artist pacing the backstage dressing rooms.
