THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Brownstone Cafe is said to be haunted by an elderly man named Neri Sipe, who reportedly died after jumping from a nearby building. His presence has been associated with sudden cold gusts, pots and pans moving or flying without explanation, and a mysterious humming voice when music from the 1930s or 1940s is played.

An elderly man (named Neri Sipe) leapt to his death in the nearby building is thought to be here. People associate his presence with a cold gust, pans and pots flying around, and some people hear a voice humming if tunes from the 1930’s or 1940’s are playing. Other ghosts are said to haunt the whole premise of what used to be the California Hotel.
