THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Linck Inn has long been associated with reports of ghostly apparitions and unexplained activity. Witnesses have described phantom footsteps, mysterious voices, and shadow figures inside the historic inn.

This historic building was built in 1836, and has served as both a general store and as a hotel, as it was a popular stopover point for stagecoach and canal travellers. The hotel is no longer in operation, but is believed to still have three ghostly tenants who stayed on. The first is a female prostitute, who is believed to have hanged herself in an upstairs room when the hotel was formerly a bordello. Guests and staff claim to have seen a woman hanging by a noose from a rafter, but when they seek help, she suddenly vanishes. The second spirit has been nicknamed Levi by staff after the original owner, and this male apparition appears to have a taste for alcohol. Patrons here have to watch their drinks, as the spook has been known to drain entire schooners in a single gulp. The third apparition is known as the Lilac Lady, who has been drifting through an upstairs hallway. Staff and guests say she leaves behind a pleasant floral aroma wherever she goes throughout the building.
