Reported Haunting
The Old Jail Museum preserves McKean County's former jail and has become known for reports of paranormal activity. Visitors have described unexplained voices, shadow figures, cell doors moving unexpectedly, and other encounters believed to involve former prisoners.
Ralph Crossmire, executed for murdering his mother, haunts his former cell. People who occupied it after his death would report seeing him. Now, as a museum, guests and employees report that Crossmire is more of a prankster than a threat.
