Reported Haunting
Dating to the early 1800s, the Old Stagecoach Inn is considered one of Vermont's best-known haunted inns. Guests have reported apparitions, phantom footsteps, and encounters with former residents who are said to remain in the building.
The historic inn is said to be haunted by a former resident. Rocking chairs and other furniture have moved by themselves, beds are stripped and the linens neatly folded when the housekeeper looks away, and apparitions have been seen. Room 2 is said to be the most haunted.
