THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Palms Mansion has a local reputation for paranormal activity, with visitors reporting apparitions, unexplained footsteps, mysterious voices, and strange occurrences inside the historic home.

This Queen Anne style mansion was built in 1876 for a wealthy citrus grower, and is best known for its owner William Pendleton, the president of an arts college. Due to ailing health, he moved to the house in 1886, but died several years later prior to the turn of the century. It is believed that his ghost haunts the house, as owners thereafter claim to have seen the apparition of a distinguished gentleman roaming the hallways of the rambling building.
