THE STORY

Reported Haunting

Thistle Hill is a historic mansion associated with reports of ghostly apparitions and unexplained activity. Visitors have described mysterious footsteps, shadow figures, and strange sounds throughout the home.

Thistle Hill was originally built in 1903-1904 for Electra Waggoner Wharton, daughter of wealthy rancher and oilman William “Tom” Waggoner and his wife Ella. The historic home is now available for touring and private events. Witnesses say that the 1970s renovations may have awakened some spirits, as two apparitions began to show up in the house: a woman in white who appears on the grand staircase landing and a man in tennis clothes with a handlebar mustache. Phantom music has come from the ballroom, and footsteps and voices have been heard here as well.
