This historic house was built in 1925, and has seen many celebrities throughout its illustrious history as a hotel and inn. There are many stories of haunting’s in the inn, including the apparition of a gentleman smoking a cigar and an elderly lady in a period dress. Other activity reported in various parts of the building includes doors opening and closing by themselves, disembodied footsteps and the apparition of a large dog, who has been seen roaming the grounds. If you’re looking for haunted rooms to stay in, the inn has know shortage. In the Chanticleer Room, a spectral housemaid has been known to open the drapes in the morning and close them at night. In the Roosevelt Room (where the president himself stayed), lights turn on and off by themselves and closet doors have been known to fly open and slam shut when there is no one around. And in the Inn Keeper’s room, the giggling of young children has been heard, but upon investigating, no one is found.
