Western Oregon University has accumulated decades of campus ghost lore centered on its oldest buildings and residence halls. Witnesses have described apparitions, shadow figures, and mysterious footsteps that continue to fuel campus legends.
The ghost of a very protective headmistress is said to haunt Todd Hall. Mrs. Todd very strict when presiding over the then-all-girl dorm. When she retired, they named the building after her. Her ghost has been seen here, presumably keeping watch over her beloved students. She also has appeared as a bright light and has triggered motion detectors.
