THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The historic Haymond House is associated with reports of phantom footsteps, a woman in white, shadowy figures, unexplained voices and other activity encountered by owners, visitors and paranormal investigators.

Built in 1894 for prominent Sutton attorney and businessman William Edgar Haymond, this Queen Anne-style mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since the property changed ownership in 2019, the Haymond House has developed a substantial reputation for paranormal activity. Reported phenomena include footsteps pacing across the second floor, a woman in white seen moving between upstairs rooms, a tall gray apparition, smaller shadow figures and unusual lights or orbs. Investigators have also reported unexplained voices and EVPs, doors opening or closing on their own, apparent manipulation of the front-door lock and occasional sensations of being touched or grabbed. Stories also describe a childlike presence in the basement. Some more dramatic claims, including a rumored death near the servants' stairway, remain unverified paranormal lore. The house is currently used for organized paranormal investigations and special events, so access should be arranged through authorized events or the property operators.
