Reported Haunting
The Windward House is associated with reports of lingering spirits connected to Cape May's Victorian past. Guests have described apparitions, footsteps in empty rooms, mysterious voices, and unexplained activity throughout the inn.
The most activity is reported in the third floor Wicker Room. Guests report moving objects and items going missing. The ghost is believed to be a young Irish girl that the employees refer to as Bridgette. She has a reputation for taking earrings that are placed on the nightstand, though they always reappear.
