Students and visitors have long reported unexplained footsteps inside Winnie Davis Hall, sometimes seeming to follow people through empty corridors and stairways. Campus folklore also describes the apparition of a young woman inside the historic building.
Winnie Davis Hall is one of the historic buildings on the Limestone University campus in Gaffney. Generations of students have associated the building with ghost stories, including mysterious footsteps following people through otherwise empty halls and stairways. Local tradition also speaks of the apparition of a young woman believed by storytellers to be a former student. The building's paranormal reputation has appeared repeatedly in local newspaper accounts and campus folklore.
