THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Wolf Bayou Bridge (locally known as Mama Lou's Bridge) near Scott and North Little Rock, Arkansas, is haunted by a mother and her newborn baby who tragically died after their car plunged off the original bridge into the bayou. Daredevils who visit the site at night and shout, "Mama Lou, I’ve got your baby!" frequently experience severe, unexplainable vehicle trouble or see the floating, translucent apparition of a woman in a white dress manifest near the water, desperately crying out in response, "Where is my baby?!"
The bridge was replaced in 2005, but it was the old one from which local legends arose. Folks say that a woman and her newborn died here when she drove off the bridge. Rumor has it that those who go there at night and shout “Mama Lou, I’ve got your baby!” will have trouble with their car or perhaps see a floating woman in white near the bridge.
