Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is associated with the legend of Muriel Trevenard, a fictional young woman whose supposed disappearance became widely mistaken for local history. Later ghost stories also involve former keepers and sailors, with visitors reporting apparitions and unexplained activity around the lighthouse.
